How Trenchless Sewer Repair Works

Pipe Lining (CIPP)

We insert a resin-coated liner into your existing pipe, inflate it, and cure it in place. This creates a new smaller pipe inside the old one. No excavation needed and your yard stays intact. Most jobs are completed in one day. However, this method can only be done effectively on cracked but healthy pipe.
See how a camera inspection confirms candidacy →Pipe Bursting

A new full-size pipe is pulled through the path of the old one, breaking the old pipe outward as it goes. This requires only two access points instead of a full trench. Your landscaping, driveway, and most of your yard stay protected. Best when the line path is intact and the full pipe needs replacing.

Trenchless Sewer Repair Questions
What is trenchless sewer repair and how does it work?
Trenchless sewer repair replaces or restores your sewer line using access pits instead of a long open trench. With pipe bursting, we break the old sewer out of the way and pull a full‑sized new pipe through the same path. That new pipe is seamless, with no joints or gaps for tree roots to grow into again. In the right situations we may also use cured‑in‑place lining, which adds a new interior surface inside an existing pipe if it’s still structurally sound.
Is trenchless sewer line repair worth it compared to traditional digging?
It is often worth it when the pipe is a good candidate because it usually means less yard damage, less cleanup, and less disruption to the home. Traditional excavation may still be necessary if the pipe is too damaged, collapsed, or needs rerouting.
Can a plumber fix my broken sewer line without digging up my yard?
Yes, if the line is a candidate for trenchless repair. A plumber can often fix the problem through existing access points, but the line must still have enough structure to support lining or replacement by trenchless methods.
How long does trenchless sewer line replacement take for a home?
In most cases we can dig a small relief pit first so your sewer is usable again within hours of us arriving, even while we finish the full replacement. Many residential trenchless jobs can be completed in two to three days, though timing depends on the length of the line, the repair method, and the condition of the pipe.
Do I need trenchless sewer repair or full sewer line replacement?
Trenchless sewer repair is usually the better fit when the pipe is damaged but still structurally usable. Fully excavated replacement is usually the better fit when the pipe is collapsed, severely offset, bellied, missing sections, or otherwise cannot be lined safely.
Can trenchless pipe lining fix tree root damage in my sewer line?
Yes. With pipe bursting we break the old, root‑filled sewer out of the way and pull a new seamless pipe into the same path. That new pipe has no joints or gaps for roots to grow through, which removes the chance of tree roots getting back into the sewer.
